Charlie Kirk - Apostle

Charlie Kirk, martyred in broad daylight on September 10 2025, at the age of 31, at Utah Valley University, while addressing some 3000 students and before his wife and 2 children, was a modern-day apostle.  He preached the canon of faith, the intact married nuclear family, and love of country, including its founding, founding principles, and founding fathers.  Pre-Obama, such a creed would have been non-controversial, and popular amongst a huge swath of the nation, Republican and most Democrats.  No longer.  Many, if not most, on the Left, now reject it.  

For the Left, Charlie Kirk was a dangerous man.  He reached out to the youth, generally a Leftist bastion, persuading large swaths of them to embrace his message.  Even worse, he pursued them in our colleges and universities, also traditional strongholds of the Left.  Yet there was Charlie, invading their “territory,” so to speak, in the very heart of the Leftist enterprise, and winning over many young converts.  For the Left, other than President Trump himself, he was the most dangerous man in America.

Our college campuses, after all, are the very places where the most noxious ideas of the Left are hatched: ideas that have done so much to undermine the country, including “DEI,” critical race theory, intersectionality, “systemic racism,” settler colonialism, “social justice,” feminism, and the cult-Marxist oppressor-oppressed narrative, around which all disparities and conflicts are framed.  These ideas have led to the tribalization of our society along racial, ethnic, and sexual grounds, and a fixed oppression “matrix,” with white males, Christians, and Jews, inaccurately “placed” at the top, and various and sundry racial, ethnic, and sexual minorities toward the bottom.  Instead of a nation founded on individuals, “endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights,” a system of meritocracy, individual rights and liberties, free markets, equal justice before the law, and the Judeo-Christion tradition, it had become a Marxist nightmare of competing groups, “tribes,” or “identity groups,” vying for position against a background of unremitting “racism,” “sexism,” and other forms of “bias” by the white majority.

Into these dens of Marxist iniquity walked Charlie, evangelizing his Christian faith, the central role of the intact, traditional, married family, and the greatness of our nation.  Even worse, he loved and supported Israel, in direct contrast with Leftist dogma today, which loathes Israel and Jews, and embraces Iran, terrorism, Hamas, and the so-called “Palestinian” cause - their latest, all-purpose “identity group.”

Indeed, the second most dangerous man in America.

His approach was also galling to the Left.  His “Prove Me Wrong” tours, which, as noted, went to ground zero of the Leftist empire, our colleges and universities, taking questions from all comers including radical leftists, the “LGBT” community, racial and ethnic activists, radical Muslims, and feminists, among others. Many challenged Charlie, often aggressively, and Charlie politely responded, listening, countering, and generally prevailing over opponents, all the while promoting his conservative, patriotic, pro-family, Christian values.  

A high school graduate who never went to college, a point of contention with the hyper credentialed Left, Charlie was self-taught, and something of an auto-didact, with a wide breadth of knowledge, historical, biblical, economic, and political.  He had written six books and began a popular radio talk show and podcast, the “Charlie Kirk Show.” 

He started Turning Point USA in 2012.  It now boasts more than 800 chapters but since his assassination, has received 62,000 requests from High School and college students to start new chapters.

The Left loathes Christianity because faith and God, and, of course, Jesus himself, exist outside their fixed-pie, materialist notions. “Faith” may abide in structures, yes, churches and other religious institutions, but mainly it lives in the hearts and minds of men and women.  Therefore, they seek to marginalize and suppress it, as Marxist regimes have always done.  And then to break down the nuclear intact married family, those autonomous, cohesive social units that function independent of the government.  

All Leftist movements seek ultimately to dismantle these two critical institutions, the founding pillars of the civil society, precisely because they obstruct the Leftist agenda, which is to say, the agenda of an all-powerful state. The Left cannot compete with Jesus, faith or Christianity, nor can it touch or undo the intact married family that stands outside its domain and resists its advances.  They are beyond budgets and bureaucratic interference, and are generally independent of government. For the Godless Left, there is no such thing as a transcendent Creator God or moral code. Their morality centers on the acquisition and exercise of state power.  Indeed, Leftist regimes have been the most brutal in history. 

And so, the family and religion were a threat to the Left.  And this was precisely the message and “threat” that Charlie Kirk, and his Turning Point USA movement, took to the heart of the beast - our college and university campuses. Adept at destroying but not building, unless it is to build gulags for its political enemies, the Left has always sought to undermine religion and the intact married nuclear family, for both were perceived as a barrier to the control of young minds, and bulwarks of the “civil” society, functioning outside the realm of government.             

Charlie also loved Israel with its biblical history of patriarchs, prophets, and the great Israelite kings, such as David and Solomon, and, of course, his savior, Jesus, all of whom lived, preached, taught, and walked the ancient roads and streets of Israel and Jerusalem. His love of Israel was yet another strike against him for the increasingly anti-Semitic, Israel-hating Left.

We have a one-way Civil War in America, a Maoist cultural revolution, with the vicious Left attacking conservatives, our faith, institutions, culture – and our leaders.  The assassination of Charlie Kirk is yet another example of widespread Leftist violence, albeit its most dramatic and consequential. It is likely to backfire. 

This conservative youth movement, based on faith, family, and patriotism, pursued vigorously by Charlie Kirk, will grow exponentially, well beyond the Left’s prior imagination. He is now a martyr taken in the prime of life by a leftist assassin, a JFK moment. His movement, and now his death, will unleash a new generation of young cultural and political leaders who will take up Charlie’s banner.  Indeed, as the biblical prophet Hosea declared, “For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind.”
