The Iran Nuclear Deal Threatens Israel and the World

Obama has long nursed a hatred of Israel as reflects his early indoctrination by leftist parents and grandparents and later in the church of anti-Semite Reverend Jeremiah Wright.  Domestic terrorist Bill Ayers and PLO mouthpiece Rashid Khalidi were also important influences in his formative years.

Obama has demonstrated his contempt for the Jewish people from the beginning of his Presidency.  He used language offensive to Israel during his Cairo speech in 2009.  He endorsed Arab demands for a construction freeze and had a tantrum when a low level bureaucrat announced plans for Israel to build apartments in Jerusalem.  Obama treated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu like a doormat during an early White House visit.  He supported the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty review conference resolution condemning Israel. During the Hamas war on Israel last summer he temporarily suspended flights to Israel and placed an embargo on weapons shipments in the middle of a conflict.  He attempted to force Egypt and Israel to accept Hamas demands to open its borders with the terrorist enclave and allow Hamas access to the international financial system.  During the build up to Netanyahu’s speech earlier this year he and his surrogates in the media and the Democrat Party made every effort to discredit Netanyahu, speaking with no sense of irony about a break in protocol from a man who routinely flouted the law and the Constitution. This and many more incidents speak to his hatred of the Jewish State.

But it is the Iran nuclear deal where his scorn for Israel may bear its most destructive fruit.

Iran has been at war with the US for 36 years and has the blood of thousands of Americans on its hands.  It is the world’s leading state sponsor of terror and actively funds terrorist proxies Hezbollah and Hamas.  It controls four Arab capitals in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen.  It is a Shiite version of ISIS, a theocratic totalitarian regime with an apocalyptic vision seeking a nuclear bomb.

Obama, leader of the most powerful nation in the world, sought to appease Iran, a terrorist state that had been isolated diplomatically and crippled by economic sanctions.  He did this by making dangerous concessions.  The marriage of radical Islam and nuclear weapons is a nightmare scenario. Yet that is precisely the result that Obama’s deal will produce.

There will be, for example, no snap inspections, no dismantling of its nuclear infrastructure, no halt to its continued support of terrorist proxies, no stop to its development of long range missiles.  There is no demand that it give up its quest for nuclear weapons with a warning of military action if it does not.

Instead, Iran will be legitimized as a nuclear threshold state.  It will enjoy sanctions relief, a windfall of $150 billion, and an end to the embargo on conventional weapons and ballistic technology.  The US will be obliged to defend Iran’s nuclear program.  In the end, when the treaty expires (if it doesn’t cheat before), Iran will get its nuclear bomb.  This will lead to a nuclear arms race in the Middle East.  It will be a threat to Israel and the region, and to the US, Europe, and the world.  Obama, our Neville Chamberlain, sought this in part because he despises Israel and seeks to break our strategic alliance with it.  He sought to diminish the US role in the region. Misguided narcissist that he is, he also wanted his “Nixon goes to China" moment.

This deal places Obama on a glide path to becoming the gravest threat to Israel and the Jewish people since Adolph Hitler.  It also makes him the worst threat facing his own country and the world.  Congress should deliver a veto proof majority to kill this monstrosity.
